February is a busy month, but the biggest news this month is the SportVelo training camp, which is more popular than ever! We limit the number of riders to keep the rides safe, but, of course, coached SportVelo athletes always have first priority.

Road Racing Has Begun!

The road racing season has officially started! Oldies but goodies include the Cherry Pie crit, Pine Flat road race, and Snelling road race. No time to plan what to bring to these races? See the new training tips for the comprehensive Bike Race Gear Check List . And while you’re at it, if you’re racing triathlons, ease your mind with our Triathlon Gear Check List too.

Rain Season Still in Swing: Use Caution!

While February is off to a great start weather-wise, (60+ degrees last weekend!), we’re still not home-free from the rain season. So please, be careful in the rain. See the rain riding tips for guidelines on what to wear, how to ride your bike, and how to maintain your bike.

Check out the Tour of California This Month

Last year Andi & I watched the Amgen Tour of California climb over Sierra Road, and it was awesome to see all those famous European pros (and even a few locals) power up the climb. You have the opportunity to see it again. I’d suggest viewing stage 3 (Wednesday, Feb 21), which goes over Calaveras and Sierra into San Jose, and watching them in person. If there is enough interest and the weather is good, we may have a field trip to watch the race that day.

Keep in mind that the days are getting longer and daylight savings time changes earlier than usual: the week of March 10th and 11th.

See you at the camp!
